You Should Not Negotiate
Your Own Claim
Here's the scenario: You are anxious to get a settlement
of your claim. You have medical and repair bills piling up.
You might be out of work. Your bill collectors are calling.
Your insurance adjuster tells you that you don't need an attorney.
How do you know if the insurance company offered to settle your case
fairly?
YOU DON'T!
Your case may be worth thousand of dollars more than
what the insurance company offers. The adjuster is paid by the
insurance company, works for the insurance company, and is paid to
negotiate and settle your claim for the absolute lowest amount of money.
The insurance company has every incentive to get you to sign as fast as
possible and without solid legal advice and representation. Your
attorney is a trained and experience professional and will proceed with
your claim to the fullest extent of the law. Your attorney has one
goal: to give you the best legal advice on the value of your claim.
Although no attorney can guarantee your results, an
experienced attorney will usually be able to obtain a much better
settlement for you than you can do on your own. If you are
thinking about negotiating with an insurance company yourself, ask
yourself: Why does the insurance company tell me I don't need an
attorney? Is it for my best interest? The insurance company's best
interest is for you to NOT hire an attorney.
