Worker's Compensation

Employee Claims

If you have been injured on the job, you have certain legal rights. Under the Missouri Worker's Compensation Act, an employee who's injured in the course and scope of his or her employment, and arising out of his or her employment, is entitled to certain benefits. Those benefits include payment of medical bills, payment for time off of work if you are disabled, and permanent total or partial disability, depending on the severity of the injury. If you have been injured on the job in any way, please contact us for a free consultation to discuss your legal rights.

Defense for Employers

Employers are supposed to have worker's compensation insurance under the Missouri Worker's Compensation Act. Depending on the type of business, some employers with as few as two employees must have worker's compensation insurance. Other employers must have worker's compensation insurance at other levels. If you have had an employee become injured on the job, and you do not have worker's compensation insurance, you may face civil or criminal liability, if it is later determined that you should have been covered under the Act. If you have any questions about the applicability of the Worker's Compensation Act, or how to handle an injured employee in the workplace, we at The Law Firm of O'Reilly & Jensen, L.L.C. can help.
